Raymond “Danger” Muratalla Eyes Glory: “I’m Ready to Show Out on May 10!”
This is something all fighters dream of,” says undefeated lightweight Raymond Muratalla. “I’ve put in all the work. I’m ready to show out on May 10!” Catch Muratalla vs. Abdullaev for the interim IBF lightweight title — live from San Diego and broadcast on ESPN.

MORENO VALLEY, Calif. (April 29, 2025) — California’s own Raymond “Danger” Muratalla is stepping into his moment — and he’s not planning to waste it.
The undefeated lightweight powerhouse (22-0, 17 KOs), hailing from Fontana, is gearing up for the biggest fight of his career as he goes toe-to-toe with Russia’s Zaur Abdullaev (20-1, 12 KOs) for the vacant interim IBF lightweight world title on Saturday, May 10, live from the Pechanga Arena in San Diego.
The high-stakes clash is part of an electric fight night headlined by Emanuel “Vaquero” Navarrete defending his WBO junior lightweight title against unbeaten Filipino contender Charly Suarez — a double feature that promises fireworks from start to finish.
Muratalla’s Rise Has Been Relentless
After a standout 2023 that included a second-round knockout of Jeremia Nakathila and a late TKO of Diego Torres, Muratalla kept the momentum going in 2024 with wins over seasoned names like Tevin Farmer and Jesus Perez. Now, he’s one win away from putting “world champion” next to his name.
“This is a huge opportunity for me, my family, and my team,” Muratalla said after a training session at the Robert Garcia Boxing Academy. “I’m not looking past Zaur, but this fight gets me one step closer to the big names I want to call out.”
A Dangerous Opponent Awaits
Zaur Abdullaev, no stranger to top-tier competition, has racked up nine straight wins since a 2019 loss to Devin Haney. Among his victims? Former world champs Jorge Linares, Dejan Zlaticanin, and Roger Gutierrez. Muratalla knows this won’t be a walk in the park.
“He’s improved a lot and he’s on a roll,” Muratalla acknowledged. “But I’ve got too many tools, too many layers. There are still things I haven’t even shown in the ring yet.”
Don’t Blink on May 10
“This is something all fighters dream of,” Muratalla added. “I’ve put in all the work. I’m ready to show out on May 10!”
